>> ...we have Miss Miller for February Vogue UK. Applause for the huge improvement. Weird that both US Vogue and Vogue UK are using her as a cover girl in such quick succession. But Vogue UK wins by a landslide, and we are talking California-mud-all-over-the-place landslide. Then again, it could just be the to-die-for Balenciaga pantsuit that's doing it for me...

this mom, on the other hand,
>> ...brings us back to where we started...the blah factor of this February Elle cover is up there, I have to say. And the cover, it looks more Elle Girl than Elle. What happened to the brazen Material Girl of yesteryear? Did Esther chase her away?

hollywood's "model mom" may not be a model...
>>...but compared to the slew of celebrity-magazine-cover travesties (cough...Lindsay...cough...Scarlett...cough) we've seen lately, she's looking pretty darn good on the the February cover of W. Even if the patent leather Vuitton dress is a bit much for everyday wear, it's great fun for a photoshoot. I can't say the article about her is riveting, but she has my respect for trying her best at that celebrity-mom-actress triumvirate.
it's officially official
>> The Phoebe Philo era of Chloe is over -- it is finally confirmed that Pheebs has resigned:
"Chloe is a beautiful house with a great history, and I am proud to have worked alongside the wonderfully talented people there," Philo said. "My decision to resign is for personal reasons, including especially to spend more time with my new baby in the coming months. I want to thank the House of Chloe, the Richemont Group and of course Ralph Toledano for their support and their understanding of my decision. These past years have been exciting for all of us, and I wish the company all the best success in the future."
The Chloe design team is expected to put together the forthcoming Fall/Winter 2006 show due in March, which should be no sweat for them, as they already took care of the highly successful winter collection while Philo was on maternity leave. I am just looking forward to the announcement of the new creative director...

since when did vanity fair become such a muckraking publication?
>> While they're "improving themselves," they might consider re-evaluating the cover photos they pick.
EDIT: For those of you who want to see the horribly boring, nondescript photoshoot, proceed this way please.
super target
>> Target is really on a roll these days...WWD is reporting that my favorite chic french store is in talks with Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez -- yes, that's right -- the men of Proenza Schouler -- about creating an exclusive lower-priced line. The deal may be months away, but who cares -- I am excited about any prospect whatsoever. Besides, I still have something to look forward to next month, when Luella's collection for Target launches.
UPDATE: It looks like this is only a rumor...so far anyway...
poor, poor little rich girl
>> Sienna's Edie biopic better be good, because I sure am getting myself all worked up about it. I found a link to Andy Warhol's film of Edie -- Poor Little Rich Girl. The first half is kind of worthless, because Warhol filmed it out of focus, so you can't really see anything. But the second half is wonderful -- lots of up close shots of Edie, and she gets dressed at the very end -- makes me want to wrap myself up in a leopard coat. Not that she didn't have my favor before, but this little waif is a cutie.
