kate and stellaaaaaa: righted and reunited

>>  Forgive and forget, that's what they say.  And it looks like Kate Moss and Stella McCartney embraced just that.  Just days ago, Vogue UK reports, Miss Moss posed in St. Bart's for what looks like Stella's Spring/Summer ad campaign.  Forget that drat H&M campaign, Comeback Kate strikes again!

>>  Looks like it's going to be rough-going to get your hands on the December issue of Vogue Paris, which debuts this week.  Mlle Kate Moss is in fact guest-editing the issue, whose four different covers were created based on Jean Cocteau's 1946 French film, La Belle et la Bete (Beauty and the Beast, right).  For each cover, Mlle was photographed by Craig McDean in a variety of different ensembles: a Chanel couture cape; a Valentino couture gown; a Giorgio Armani Privé dress with Dior Homme bolero and Givenchy couture boots; and a Dior Homme embellished jacket and Superfine skinny leg jeans.  The issue will also include an article which traces Mlle's life, career, and her rise to fashion icon statues, a portfolio of Mlle in which major photographers (Bruce Weber, Mario Testino, and the like) each dedicate one photo, and the requisite fashion stories about Mlle's much-emulated style.  Oh boy, will I be scrounging the town for this issue.  **sources: fashion week daily, cna

swingin' it

>>  Birkin bag?  Try Birkin dress... Jane Birkin, that is.  Gaze upon this beauty.  It is your consummate 60's-inspired minidress just waiting for you in all of its glory.  Carpe diem -- seize the day.  You know, the day back in the 60's.  Could be fun, you know.

goldeny goodness

>>  Extra!  Extra!  Read all about it!  Those old classic sneakers that all of mankind calls Converse have gone bling on us.  The All Star Specialty line came out with limited edition gold and platinum low- and high-tops.  Converse gone glam, really.  I think I still like the beat-up versions, personally.  But maybe these metallics will crack with wear -- that could be cool.

>>  Think peter pan collar.  Think red wool and cashmere.  Think the hotness.  Think this jacket.  I love this trapeze jacket with its big buttons and cropped sleeves.  Between its striking shape and bright red color, it is absolutely smashing.  The sky must be falling, Chicken Little, because this jacket is perfect.  Too bad its $551.

word on the street

>>  Rumor has it that Phoebe Philo is about to give up her position as creative director of Chloe -- and the company says mum's the word (surprise).  However, it seems as though there was no explosive fallout a la Roland Mouret, but rather Pheebs just wants to spend more time with her family.  This all comes at an interesting time, considering Pheebs just signed a new multiyear contract last month.  But it is said that she is in negotiations with the company about future collaboration.  Looks like this could be my chance to swoop in and pick up the slack at Chloe -- if only.  But really, I wish she would stay -- though it's true, it seems as though her heart just hasn't been in it the past couple of seasons.

rock it like a yeti

>>  What is the world coming to when girls run around looking like an abominable snowman from the knee down?  I saw one yesterday, wearing these shoes, and looking smug about it too.  Too bad I had to burst my eardrums keeping the laughter in.

caped crusader, pt. 2

>> So in my search for the perfect cape, I came across this one.  It's not the perfect one for me -- I want a black one, rather than charcoal.  And I don't like how it has no collar, and something about the belted waist and the buttons and the cape all together makes the coat a little too busy, not as streamlined and elegant as it should be.  And besides, why would I buy a coat that leaves your arms totally bare?  I like the capes with the slits for arms in them much more.  I guess I'll just have to keep looking...
