Gemma Ward Says She's Not Done with Modeling Yet, Expects to Be Back on Runway Next Year
>> Soon after Gemma Ward popped up in New York for her 22nd birthday, a spokesperson from her Australian agency Vivens went on record saying of Ward: "Gemma hasn't committed to returning to modelling at any time soon." The comment spurred many to conclude that Ward was permanently done with modeling.
Now, however, Ward herself is speaking out. She Twittered yesterday: "Thankyou everyone for your support, all i'll say on the subject is im content with my decision but i have said nothing will be permanent." And she emailed The West Australian to let them know she plans on returning to the catwalk next year: "I have not 'quit modelling' and my fans back home can expect to see me back at work modelling and acting in the new year."
More 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Cast Revealed — Including Liu Wen
>> One week from today, this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will be taping in New York City — so who's stepping foot on the runway?
In addition to nine Angels who are walking (not including Heidi Klum, who just had a baby and is hosting, and Adriana Lima, who is still pregnant), Modelinia has confirmed that Izabel Goulart, Isabeli Fontana, Erin Heatherton, Shannan Click, Caroline Winberg, and Flavia Oliveira are all returning from last year, Caroline Trentini is making her first appearance since the 2006 show, and Lyndsey Scott, Aminata Niaria, Lily Aldridge, Liu Wen (and new Angel Chanel Iman) are all walking for the first time. Liu's appearance marks the first by an Asian model since Ujjwala Raut walked the 2003 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
Also rumored to be filling out the cast are returners Noemie Lenoir, Anne Vyalitsyna, and Ana Beatriz Barros.
Lara Stone Went to Rehab for Alcoholism Earlier This Year
>> Lara Stone was photographed by Mario Testino for the December 2009 cover of Vogue UK — all in a day's work for the frequent cover girl — but it's inside the magazine that she really gets down to business, revealing for the first time publicly that she spent four weeks earlier this year in rehab. "I am a complete alcoholic. It used to be so easy to say to someone, 'Get me a bottle of vodka,' and they'd run and get it. Going to rehab was the best decision I ever made. The last six months have been the best of my life." A week after she left rehab, she was back in the game, attending the Costume Institute Gala in early May with Alexander Wang. "I sat there all night in complete shock. I didn't say a word."
She's been doing the model rounds for ten years, since she was 15, but says that even back when she was 16 and in Paris, drugs weren't a problem. "I'd already tried everything in Holland. Anyway, I never wanted to be that model on drugs, the sort who gives head for a line of coke."
Gemma Ward Pops Up in New York for Birthday
>> Anna Wintour, who turned 60, wasn't the only fashion figure celebrating a birthday today — Gemma Ward turned 22. Ward, who according to her sister Sophie dressed up as a "crazed Elvis fan" for Halloween over the weekend, appeared with a couple of friends in New York's East Village today after an extended spell under the radar.

Victoria's Secret Announces Newest Angels, Including Chanel Iman
>> With Angel Heidi Klum just three weeks post-partum, fellow Angel Adriana Lima nearing the end of her pregnancy, and former Angel Karolina Kurkova just giving birth late last week, Victoria's Secret was bound to make some changes before their annual Fashion Show tapes on Nov. 19.
Heidi Klum is said to be hosting the event, which is back in New York City this year, and while non-Angel casting is always highly anticipated, five new faces now have a guarantee. In addition to Klum, Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Marisa Miller, and Doutzen Kroes, the company has named Emanuela de Paula, Lindsay Ellingson, Candice Swanepoel, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Chanel Iman as their newest Angels — Iman has said in the past being an Angel was one of her modeling goals. First-time Angels are said to typically sign three-year contracts.
>> Rianne ten Haken, Meisel Darling Once Again —Rianne ten Haken, who appeared on her first Vogue Italia cover back in December 2003, has definitely been welcomed back into the Steven Meisel fold. After appearing on a number of top Spring 2010 runways — Proenza Schouler, Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier — with a shock of red hair, Rianne now boasts a set of back-to-back Vogue Italia covers in her portfolio. She appeared with Karlie Kloss for October 2009, but for November 2009, it's all solo. [Models.com]

>> Jourdan Dunn Walks Spring 2010 Jean Paul Gaultier Runway Pregnant, Admits Used to Be on Not-Great Terms with Chanel Iman —In her seventh month of pregnancy — she's due with a boy in December — Jourdan Dunn hit her first catwalk so far this season over the weekend in a padded cone bra and baby bump plate for Jean Paul Gaultier. She's also appearing on Teen Vogue's November 2010 cover with Chanel Iman — inside, the latter admits they haven't "always been the best of friends": "Until recently, we barely even spoke. We went from being superclose in the beginning to dead silence if we saw each other backstage at a show." Jourdan chimes in: "It's competition. There aren't a lot of us, but instead of sticking together, we're pitted against each other. People will say things in Chanel's ear like, 'Jourdan is taking your spot,' and then they'll say to me, 'Don't trust Chanel.'" [Fashin, Teen Vogue]
>> Jessica Stam Sits Out Paris Fashion Week Sick, Tanya Dziahileva To Finally Walk This Season —Toni Garrn made her first catwalk appearance this season today at Gareth Pugh, but we're still missing a number of models usually on the circuit: Catherine McNeil, Raquel Zimmermann, Sigrid Agren, Anna Maria Jagodzinska, and Tanya Dziahileva among them. Word is it's possible some may be hitting the Paris catwalks, but it looks like a Tanya appearance is most likely out of the bunch. Don't expect to see Jessica Stam, though, who's been going light this season as is: She's been sick for the past few days and decided to head back to New York. Are Sessilee Lopez and Chanel Iman Having a Tiff?
>> Yesterday, Sessilee Lopez, who frequently Twittered, announced on the site, "sorry twitter but this is my very last tweet ... we had some good times and bad but now our relationship is over ... "; she's now deleted her account entirely. Many were left wondering why, but some now think that it may have to do with Chanel Iman.
Two days ago, Grazia reported from London Fashion Week, "Sessilee Lopez throwing a tantrum at Jeremy Scott and Nathan Jenden. 'No pictures please' but lots of tears and chair throwing! Not pretty." Later, they changed it out to read, "A certain model throwing . . ." Chanel Iman was backstage at Nathan Jenden, but was not at Jeremy Scott.
