Très Chic! The Very Best of Cannes 2012 (Updated)

Stars from all over the world will attend the movie premieres, galas, and charity events at this year's Cannes Film Festival, and all of their best looks can be seen right here.

The opening ceremony and premiere of Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom drew breathtaking looks on the festival's first day. Tilda Swinton showed up in a coppery gown by Haider Ackermann, while Eva Longoria stunned in a Marchesa gown with a long train.

But the festival isn't over yet, and there are sure to be many more beautiful looks at Cannes. A peek at what we've seen thus far - with more chic ensembles to come - in the gallery.

The Chicest Looks from the Met Gala Afterparty

There wasn't a red carpet at the Met Gala's official afterparty, but its attendees looked just as glamorous as they did heading up the steps at the ball.

Miuccia Prada and Anna Wintour hosted a crowd including Kate Bosworth and Marc Jacobs at the Harry F. Sinclair House Monday night. Prada was seen walking around the fete hand in hand with her husband Patrizio Bertelli and tapped her feet to performances by Alicia Keys and Azealia Banks. Wintour changed from her white Prada gown to a black cocktail dress for the afterparty, and Karlie Kloss exchanged her floor-length Jason Wu creation for a shorter dress by the designer.

There were also afterparties at the restaurant Crown and the Boom Boom Room at the Standard Hotel. A glimpse at the Sinclair House festivities follows in the gallery.

>> The annual Costume Institute Gala's red carpet is an infamous frenzy of fashion and flashbulbs - and we were right there to capture it all. From Anna to Miuccia, Calvin to Valentino, the grand steps of the Met were jam-packed with some of the industry's most favorite faces - not to mention some of Hollywood's favorite stars. "It's always a fun night, you know? Everyone is dressed up and looks beautiful," explained Caroline Trentini, who was dressed in a denim gown designed by date Olivier Theyskens. Ginnifer Goodwin, who wore a custom Monique Lhuillier gown, shared the sentiment: "I'm excited to see so many old friends. I know that I've got a lot of buddies inside. That's what I'm most excited about," the actress said.

"It's hugely special! What could be more important than the Costume Institute Gala? It feels like the Oscars," a Schiaparelli-pink-haired Chris Benz explained before whisking date Julie Macklowe - also sporting fuchsia locks - through the doors of the museum.

"I think it's more fun than the Oscars!" director Baz Luhrmann - who made a series of films for the exhibit - disagreed. "Just because there are no awards. There's no stress. All I have to do is eat a little something, drink a little something, and watch Bruno Mars rock the house. That can't be too hard, you know."

Burberry's World Comes Alive in Taipei

>> To fete the opening of its new flagship store in Taipei, Taiwan, Burberry invited guests to step into a custom-built multimedia display called Burberry World Live.

"It's basically the whole concept of the brand wrapped in one experience and a big celebration of the multifaceted jewel that is Burberry," the brand's creative director Christopher Bailey told Vogue UK. "It's a celebration of Britishness all around the globe."

That celebration took place inside a cylindrical structure outside the Taipei store - which is housed in Taipei 101, the world's third largest skyscraper. British musician Tom Odell performed there live for the first time, just before the structure's video screens surrounded guests with a short film showcasing everything Burberry is famous for - models walked along backdrops wearing the brand's classic trench coats and umbrellas, the perfect defense against computer-generated rain and Fall leaves.

Burberry created a similar experience in Beijing last year when it showed its Fall 2011 collection on a holographic runway. The Burberry World Live experience will tour London, Hong Kong, and Chicago later this year. Fashion's Elite Fete The Tribeca Film Festival at Chanel's Annual Dinner

>>With the likes of Lily Donaldson, Arizona Muse, Poppy Delevingne, Leelee Sobieski, Karlie Kloss, and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld in attendance at last night's Chanel Tribeca Film Festival dinner, it's no surprise that this year's edition of the annual event would prove to be one of the chicest tickets in town. At iconic downtown restaurant The Odeon, guests of the event - including Liv Tyler and Harley Viera-Newton - dined on a classic French menu of steak frites, roast chicken, and profiteroles, while industry vets Waris Ahluwalia, Giovanna Battaglia, Amanda Brooks, and Alexa Chung mingled with screen stars Naomi Watts and Camilla Belle.

The Chicest Moments From the Tribeca Film Festival Vanity Fair Party

>> Dakota Fanning, Lily Cole, Helena Christensen, and Diane von Furstenberg were among those who turned up to celebrate the start of the Tribeca Film Festival at Vanity Fair's annual kickoff party Tuesday night. Held at the New York State Supreme Courthouse - the steps of which glowed with thousands of tiny LED lights - the event was filled with nearly as many striking styles as it was big-name stars. Helena Christensen, Tory Burch, and Leelee Sobieski looked Spring-perfect in crisp white dresses; Sobieski, in a full-skirted Jil Sander gown, was especially stunning. Dakota Fanning looked charming in a hot pink Pre-Fall 2012 Lanvin cocktail frock, while even a leg injury and crutch couldn't stop Donna Karan from looking the picture of elegance in black layers and sculptural jewels. Inside Mulberry's Coachella Kickoff Party

>>Cara Delevingne, Lily Collins, and Kate Bosworth were among the superchic who gathered to fete the start of Summer's most fashionable music festival at Mulberry's Coachella Fire Pit kickoff party Friday night. Held in a private garden at the Parker Palm Springs Hotel, the soiree featured a DJ set by British band The Vaccines, as well as an acoustic set by Kasabian. Guests - including Sky Ferreira, Emma Hill, Atlanta de Cadenet, and Teen Vogue's Andrew Bevan - munched on minisliders and sipped spiked lemonade while lounging in the garden, which, in reference to Mulberry's Fall 2012 collection, was decorated with a Where the Wild Things Are theme. Inside The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Dinner

>> Joseph Altuzarra, Iris Apfel, and Pamela Love were among those who joined hosts Jenna Lyons and Hamish Bowles at an intimate dinner Wednesday evening in honor of last year's CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund recipients and nominees.

Held in the private dining room at Locanda Verde, the dinner was also attended by Lily Kwong, Derek Lam, Mickey Drexler, Michelle Cushnie, and Carlie Ochs, who nibbled on grilled wild branzino and fonduta ravioli while fellow guests - and newlyweds - Tom and Rachel Chandler Guinness tended to the evening's soundtrack.

"You all deserve to win but there just wasn't enough room," Lyons said, addressing the Fund's runners-up and nominees, as she gave the welcome toast. "You should all be incredibly proud to be here."
