A Peek at The Francisco Costa For Calvin Klein Macy's Collection

Francisco Costa brings his clean-lined Calvin Klein minimalism to Macy's this month with a limited-edition capsule collection of dresses in architectural shapes and sunset hues - all inspired by his home country of Brazil.

The collection of jersey and crepe pieces - titled Francisco Costa For Calvin Klein - will be priced from $135 to $180 and is part of the retailer's "A Magical Journey to Brasil" Spring initiative. "The collection really represents Calvin Klein; its really light, its really well-made, and the price is really right." Costa told us. "It's always a challenge but very exciting to design within a different block. It's good that we can bring our collection product to a much larger audience."

Marchesa Confirms Plan For Contemporary Line

It's official: Marchesa has teamed up with Li & Fung USA to launch a lower-priced diffusion line. Though plans are still in their infancy - and the new line has yet to be named - the brand confirms that the line will include printed and embroidered daywear, as well as accessories. All will be priced from $150 to $750, with a projected launch date of Pre-Fall 2012.

"We have always had a vision for Marchesa to be a lifestyle brand," Designer Georgina Chapman explained. "We have been so specific for such a long time, and the idea to broaden out to a different consumer, and to our same consumer as well." Chapman also added that she was "hoping Marchesa will have something to offer that is very different from what's on the floor at present."

Anna Dello Russo Is Next H&M Collaborator

The next big H&M collaborator is not a designer but an editor. Anna Dello Russo, Vogue Japan fashion director at large, has partnered with the Swedish fast fashion chain to produce a line of accessories.

The collection is made up of statement jewelry in gold-and-turquoise, bejeweled sunglasses, embellished minaudieres, and vertiginous heels - all Dello Russo signatures - and will hit 140 H&M stores worldwide Oct. 4.

"This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it," Dello Russo said of the retailers decision to partner with her instead of a designer. "With these pieces everybody can have fun, turning an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day."

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to Design Lingerie Line

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will make the transition from underwear model to underwear designer when she creates a collection of lingerie for British retailer Marks & Spencer this September.

The 33-piece capsule collection, titled Rosie For Autograph, will include everything from lingerie sets, camisoles, and a kimono-style silk robe. Some of the pieces will be covered in a rose print, while others will feature art deco patterns.

"M&S is an iconic British brand, adored by many so I'm very excited to be launching my debut lingerie line with them," she said. "I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with the design team to create my dream collection and I'm looking forward to a fun and creative time ahead."

Huntington-Whiteley isn't the only model with a lingerie line - Gisele Bundchen launched Gisele Bundchen Intimates in May and Bar Refaeli started marketing her basics line under.me in April.

In the past, Huntington-Whiteley has worked for Victoria's Secret and Burberry, among other brands. She's the current face of Marks & Spencer's Autograph line and starred in its Fall campaign alongside actor Ryan Reynolds.

Jonathan Adler Handbags Fall 2012

>>Jonathan Adler stuck to his guns when designing the second season of his new handbag collection, imbuing every tote, clutch, and purse with the same savoir faire that guides his eclectic line of home goods.

"It really made sense to me to take some of my motifs and themes, and I think they translate perfectly into the fashion category," said Adler, who's been selling pottery since 1994. "The handbags address the same issues I address when I make a pot. It's form, pattern, color - and I just kind of had a burning desire to do it."

That desire has turned into an interesting and forward-thinking collection of bags that espouse Adler's happy, pop aesthetic. For Fall, that means handbags that combine geometric patterned knitwear with leather accents and a tote that advocates for peace on one side and love on the other. Pricing details for the Fall collection weren't available as of this post, but the Spring bags sold from $38 to $250.

Adler, who collaborated with Lacoste on a line of polo shirts for Spring, says he's going to keep on making things as long as he can - and he's not counting out the possibility of a ready-to-wear collection.

"The more I make, the more I want to make, so I never say never to anything," he said, adding that he thinks his clothing line "would be colorful and happy and - I hope - unimpeachably chic and beautifully crafted." Just like his bags.

Kenzo to Debut Collaboration With Vans

>> Kenzo creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have created a line of shoes for Vans that will be released this Summer.

The unisex shoes, priced around $130, will be sold in three staggered releases at Kenzo and Opening Ceremony stores - one in May, one in June, and one in July. The first edition fuses the red, blue, and green prints from Kenzo's Spring 2012 collection with the design for the Vans Era, a classic lace-up skate shoe.

Lim and Leon, the team behind Opening Ceremony, told Vogue UK that they've worn Vans for years and "liked the idea of infusing this bit of American style into the house of Kenzo."

Joseph Altuzarra's J.Crew Collaboration Will Be Available This Week (Updated!)

>> J.Crew's collaborations with Joseph Altuzarra, Pamela Love, and Creatures of the Wind will make separate retail debuts in the coming weeks and months, but you can order the Altuzarra capsule online at Jcrew.com this Thursday. The Altuzarra capsule then hits J.Crew's 5th Avenue store Monday, April 23; Pamela Love's capsule will be available May 17 and Creatures of the Wind's on June 14.

Altuzarra told Vogue his striped collection was inspired by the clothes Jean Seberg wore in Breathless and by pictures of "Brigitte Bardot walking around St-Tropez in espadrilles and a slouchy boy's sweater." Pamela Love - a jewelry designer by trade - created clothing for the collaboration as well: a shrunken jacket, a pair of distressed jeans, and a belt. Shane Gabier and Chris Peters, who design Creatures of the Wind, created a colorblocked twinset and a floral Summer dress.

While there's no information yet on how much the pieces from Love and Creatures of the Wind will cost, Altuzarra's collection is priced between $145 for a striped dress and up to $345 for a pair of platform wedge espadrilles.

That shouldn't come as a surprise; Cole said when he created the line he wanted to make clothes his customers would want to invest in. With a price point that ranges from $400 dresses to $900 outerwear and beyond, that's exactly what it will be.

The collection manages to be very comprehensive, despite its limited nature. There's no shortage of simple shirts and dresses for daytime, but there are a number of dramatic floor-length gowns that would be perfectly appropriate at night. Ferretti called the collection "fresh and bright," and we agree - these pieces are exactly the kind of eye-catching and engaging clothes the season calls for.

Everything in the collection is priced between $49 and $119, and will be sold at 185 Macy's locations across the country starting April 17.
