The retailer on Monday introduced a line of women's clothing that puts the spotlight on the designers' ability to mix prints. Specifically, this collection of sleeveless shirts, t-shirts, tank tops, dresses, skirts, and jeans will combine stripes and florals with a distinctly East-meets-West feeling.

"The inspiration for the collection was Japanese Americana — taking something that felt distinctly American and then mixing it up in a Suno way," Beatty said. "We wanted to create something sweet, straightforward, and easy."

Kohl's internationally inspired designer collaborations have taken its customers to Istanbul and Rio de Janeiro, but its latest partnership with Catherine Malandrino is all about Paris.

Kohl's internationally inspired designer collaborations have taken its customers to Istanbul and Rio de Janeiro, but its latest partnership with Catherine Malandrino is all about Paris.

"Every woman in America has a French dream in her head, especially a Parisian one," the designer told WWD. "I feel every city has a soul. New York is all about transformation. Paris is all about timeless propositions."

The 80-piece collaboration, part of Kohl's relatively new DesigNation partnership program, is set to bring a few of those propositions to Kohl's 1,100 stores in late September and early October. Everything in the offering, which will range in price from $36 to $130, takes inspiration from things spotted in Paris. A black-and-white striped cardigan was inspired by the Columns of Buren, and the design of an iron gate at the Parc Monceau became a jacquard print.

Malandrino is the third designer to create a capsule collection for Kohl's, following Narciso Rodriguez and Derek Lam. A look at her first sketch from the collection here in the gallery.

Other retailers may have temporarily sworn off collaborations, but Uniqlo's latest partnership just hit stores. The Japanese brand teamed up with Celia Birtwell, who created many of the iconic prints designer Ossie Clark used in the '60s and '70s. Starting today, some of Birtwell's archival prints are available on everything from t-shirts to pajama pants, all priced between $10 and $40.

"I've spent my life designing textiles so I have quite a big archive," Birtwell, 71, said in an interview with Vogue UK. "I was able to go through the library and reference certain moments. When I met the people from Uniqlo Japan, we went through the sketchbooks and reference files together and they hooked into the designs they liked. I then developed those selected specifically for Uniqlo."

But Birtwell didn't just reserve her prints for clothes and accessories. For a limited time, shoppers who buy any two items from the collaboration will get 20 nail strips featuring the designs, as well as a nail file and a manicure stick. A look at all of the pieces here in the gallery.

For his very first foray into makeup, Alber Elbaz has teamed up with Lancome to produce a line of cosmetics that will debut globally on June 15.

"Alber Elbaz is, without a doubt, one of the world's most influential fashion designers," said Lancome International president Youcef Nabi. "His sense of luxury, his vision of femininity and that hint of audacity resonate perfectly with the new values of the Maison Lancome."

Lancome announced the collection on Monday by posting a teaser video created by Elbaz and Pascal Dangin of Box Studios to its YouTube page. In it, illustrated women sitting in the front row of what appears to be a fashion show are seen greeting each other, sending text messages, and cheering in delight for an unseen something coming down the runway. But what will the collaboration look like? That might not be known until the next video.

Keds is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Kate Spade New York with a capsule made in preppy-pep heaven. Gingham, polka dots, chevron, and nautical stripes adorn Keds's classic canvas sneaker silhouettes and come in snappy hues such as orange, blue, and bubblegum pink.

"There is a fun whimsical aspect to [Kate Spade] and it relates to Keds," explained Stephanie Brocoum, Keds VP of marketing. "[The shoes] are right in that sweet spot of everything feminine, fashionable, versatile."
