>> He passed away two years ago, leaving behind a legacy of fantastic fashion photography from the sixties and seventies. Unfortunately, he destroyed or lost most of his work during his later years, when he was homeless.
He was notorious for being impossible to work with. But when he did work, what he produced -- well, it was hardly fodder for destruction. In fact, it was beautiful, powerful, and every photo I see gives me an insatiable hunger to see more. I hope Terry keeps the promise that he made upon Bob's death, to produce a monograph and an autobiography of his father and his pictures -- I can't wait to see more like this one Bob took in 1972 of Angelica Huston, his muse and girlfriend of the time, for Italian Vogue, posing with model Lipp Jens as her Nazi lover.
UPDATE: It looks like Terry did keep his promise after all --
the book is being published in September of the year. Fantastic.

My favourie Bob Richardson pics were from the 90s Alberto Biani campaigns. All girls in suits, walking down city streets with hands in pockets (compulsory). Yes, lovely ones of Milla J too. I'm so getting that book!
I only wish Terry could be as talented as his father.
glad to see bob richardson get credit for being so influential - you can also see more pics of angelica houston in the nova book. he also shot milla at the same time of that shoot you posted for an alberto biani campaign where she looks very joan severance. another photographer that seems to be have been forgotten but quite as influential is james moore who did a lot of the iconic harper's bazaars in the 60's. he just passed away a few months ago. i'd like to see a monograph on his work. his whole family is in the business so this might happen.
unfortunately his work is pretty hard to come across online...
but there's one here:http://www.culturecuts.net/shortlist/2006/09/heartbeat-of-fashion.htmla few here if you click through the spread:http://www.maomag.com/mm06.bob.richardson.1.htmand a spread of milla jovovich he did in 1997 if you scroll down:http://www.millaj.com/new/0702.shtml
