  • This semi-sheer lace dress can easily go from concert to tea time with just key accessory changes. We personally love it styled with a pair of fringe ankle boots or loafers.

Stefano Pilati Leaves Yves Saint Laurent

Change is the air: after last week's news of Raf Simons's departure at Jil Sander, it has just been announced that Stefano Pilati will be showing his last Yves Saint Laurent collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 5. "I exit the house with fierce conviction in all that we have achieved and deep gratitude to those who have supported me along the way," said Pilati. "I wish the maison Yves Saint Laurent and its new creative director the very best for the future." Pilati, who has been at Yves Saint Laurent since 2004, has been criticized over the years for his inconsistent collections. While some received rave reviews — Pilati's "Tribute" sandals along with his "Muse" and "Downtown" bags were great successes — critics described some of his collections as "lacking color and modernity." Meanwhile, Hedi Slimane, former designer at Dior Homme, is rumored to return to fashion and replace Pilati at YSL. Pilati's next move is still to be determined, but for now, check out his second to last Spring collection for Yves Saint Laurent in the slideshow.

Gwyneth Paltrow Nails the Jumpsuit Trend — Get the Look

Let Gwyneth Paltrow be our latest example of the jumpsuit trend done right.

Let Gwyneth Paltrow be our latest example of the jumpsuit trend done right. At last night's Women in Film pre-Oscar event in LA, Gwyneth donned a black Boy. by Band of Outsiders tuxedo jumpsuit. The plunging neckline is a risque touch, but notice how she tempered the sexy silhouette with one strong statement necklace and black and gold Jimmy Choo platform sandals. The result is a modern, yet sultry evening ensemble. Read on to see how you can achieve the same look, then shop similar items below.

  • Do not overaccessorize. Stick to one key statement piece, like an oversized cuff or standout pendant — we love how Gwyneth adorned her look with a gold shark tooth necklace — and black heels to elongate your body.
  • Choose a flattering silhouette. Draped shapes and jumpsuits cut closer to the body are the most flattering fit.
  • Style the look with a tailored black or white blazer for a chic office-to-evening ensemble.

Bottega Veneta Runway Fall 2012

For Bottega Veneta's Fall 2012 collection, Tomas Maier showed us his take on wearable luxury, highlighting sleek suiting, sharp coats, and an impressive batch of evening wear. “The look is covered up and the materials are virtually impenetrable, yet the effect is powerfully physical,” said Maier. Day wear focused on tailored coats, cropped trousers, and skirt suits featuring brooch-adorned jackets, refined blazers, and knee-length pencil skirts dipped in purple, black, and navy hues. Meanwhile, '40s-inspired shift dresses were injected with a modern touch via sliced leather insets and statement prints. The latter was featured on a striking cap-sleeve dress with a bold corset belt. Evening wear honed in on Maier's love for texture; velvet and feathered cocktail dresses and peplum gowns emoted the perfect sense of opulence, with just the right amount of mystique. For his die-hard bag ladies, Maier provided a range of reptilian-print satchels and leather clutches featuring the brand's iconic woven intrecciato technique. More details from the collection below.

  • Trends: Peplum, velvet, cropped trousers.
  • Colors: Black, purple, gray, mauve, orange, brown, navy.
