Ladylike looks might be the big Spring trend, but when the thought of pulling on a pencil skirt seems unbearable, flip the switch and opt for a more masculine feel. These days, menswear-inspired pieces, like blazers and trousers, have become a closet staple and we're looking for new ways to emote the trend for the new season. Try out a pair of candy colored oxfords for a new twist, or take a risk in a tuxedo jumpsuit. Need a visual? We created five new masculine-tinged outfits for you to test out, starting with this sleek take on a tuxedo dress. Just click the slideshow to see all the outfits and why we love them.

Last night's finale of Project Runway All Stars crowned talented and quirky designer Mondo Guerra as the winner of the show. The designer showed a six-piece collection, wowing the judges with his workmanship, knack for color, and mixing fabrics. So just what does Mondo have in store next? "I plan to stay in Denver as long as I can and do my own collection," Mondo told WWD. "I want it to be all about me just like [John] Galliano is all about Galliano. I was compared to him in season eight. Don't you remember? Michael Kors said so. I know it's a reality show, but I feel I have the chops to do it." As the winner, Mondo's prize includes a spread in Marie Claire magazine, a cash prize of $100,000 from L'Oréal Paris, and space to sell his fashion at Neiman Marcus stores across the US. Congratulations to Mondo for a well-deserved win! Click through the slideshow to see all of Mondo's amazing looks throughout the whole season, and tell us what you think in the comments section.

If you love Brian Atwood's sexy shoes, prepare to swoon over the designer's new handbag collection. The collection is just as luxurious as his footwear line, showcasing sexy bright snakeskin print envelope clutches and minaudiere hardcase shapes. In fact, we can already picture celebrity fans like Rachel Bilson, Zoe Saldana, and Emma Stone wearing the striking collection on the red carpet. Prices are steep (each clutch costs around 1K), but if you're looking to make a very worthy investment, you can access the exclusive sale at Gilt.com on March 28. Music festival season is upon us, and with Coachella just a few weeks away, we're showing you the pieces you need to stand out from the crowd. If you've ever wanted to try out crop tops, headbands, cut-offs, and fringe (and maybe all at once), this is your time. These festivals are just as much as about the fashion as it is about the talent on stage, so we challenge you to take it a step further for your next outing. Instead of the usual pair of blue cut-offs, try a dramatic black pair, or opt for a pretty printed romper. For accessories, we love the idea of stomping around the fairground in red suede boots, decking out your arms in wrap bracelets, and trying out bohemian headgear. Get in on the action now and shop 20 standout pieces to get you festival ready — all under $100.
After much anticipation, Adidas has just revealed its 2012 Olympic uniforms for Britain designed by Stella McCartney. The uniforms, which took two years to create, highlight a modern take on Great Britain's Union Jack flag. “The first place to start on a project like this is to look at the Union flag," said McCartney. "For me it’s one of the most beautiful flags in the world and it was important for me to stay true to that iconic design but also to modernise it and present it in a contemporary way." The designer injected her own fashion-forward spin on it via clean lines and and a less literal take on the flag. "Something that was very important to me was to try and use that very iconic image but to dismantle it and try to soften it, break it down and make it more fashionable in a sense," said McCartney. While the designer has already taken some criticism for not showing enough patriotism in the design, we like it. Take a look at the uniforms in the slideshow and tell us what you think in the comments section below.
Blake Mycoskie and Lauren Bush are teaming up for the ultimate do-good, feel-good fashion collab with a TOMS + FEED limited edition shoe collection, launching exclusively online on April 1. The shoes cost $58 and feature TOMS' signature shoe silhouette and FEED's iconic stamp and burlap fabric. “Blake and I have a great friendship and our respective organizations have a lot in common, living in the space of for-profit social businesses," said Lauren Bush. "Blake has always been an active supporter of FEED, as I am of TOMS, so we’ve talked about collaborating for a while. I'm thrilled that we were finally able to make it happen and bring more awareness to each of our causes, more credibility to socially-aware enterprises and more assistance to people globally.” Each purchase provides 12 school meals and one pair of new shoes will be given to a child in need. In fact, we can't think of a better way to support the cause — and look cute while doing so. Check out the slideshow to see the collection and make note to shop a pair at TOMS.com on April 1 before they sell out.

Last night, we were treated to a preview of the Alberta Ferretti for Macy's Impulse collection, launching in stores and online on April 17. Known for her chic ladylike appeal, Alberta showcased gorgeous printed dresses and maxi gowns perfect for Spring soirees. There was also a selection of navy and white knit tops and sweaters, ideal for layering and pairing with tailored shorts or printed trousers. Ladylike skirts are blooming up everywhere this season, thanks to designers like Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, and Derek Lam. And now that Spring has sprung, we've been spotting celebrities translating the trend into their stylish ensembles. Michelle Williams was spotted in a chic Jason Wu leather pencil skirt and striped top, while FLOTUS Michelle Obama opted to pair a J.Crew mint green skirt with a gold Michael Kors sweater and heels. If pencil skirts are too fitted for your taste, try out fuller knee-length silhouettes or skirts with pretty pleat details. The key is to not go too short or skimpy. Want to find your perfect ladylike skirt? Just shop our top 15 picks in the slideshow now.
Today marks the first official day of Spring and we're toasting the occasion with one of our favorite trends: colorblock. Seen on the Spring runways of Marc by Marc Jacobs, BCBG Max Azria, and Sophie Theallet, colorblocked looks can range from bright contrasting colors combinations to more neutral pairings. Not only does colorblock add graphic interest to any look, it's also really flattering on the body, instantly slimming you in just the right places. We love the idea of donning a colorblock shirtdress for a refreshing take on office chic, and pairing an asymmetric rendition with colored trousers for a fun evening look. Just shop our top 15 picks under $200 to kick off Spring, and your wardrobe, right.
Olivia Palermo has gone a long way from her days starring in The City. Within just a few years, the self-made fashion It girl has been snapped literally everywhere, for her inspirational fashion sense, designed shoes for Stuart Weitzman, and most recently, has started her own style blog. Olivia is now taking her style prowess overseas with a front-page cover and editorial for the April issue of Elle Ukraine. As expected, Olivia looks nothing short of perfection on the cover wearing a bold look comprised of a silk jeweled coat and statement earrings. For her editorial spread, stylist Natalia Osadchaya dressed Olivia in a range of ladylike looks from Lanvin, Mango, and Azzedine Alaïa, to name a few, as she posed pretty in a hotel room backdrop. Take a look at the rest of Olivia Palermo's debut in Elle Ukraine, then tell us what you think in the comments section below.
We've always been fans of Coach's iconic Heritage bags, so you can imagine our excitement when we laid eyes on its new Legacy collection at a preview yesterday. The line features the classic satchel, saddle, and tote shapes we know and love, but this time, they're injected with modern twist thanks to bright color combos and chic details like oversize tassels. The Coach Legacy collection also features a covetable array of shoes, clothing, tech accessories — think sleek iPad and phone cases — wallets, and mini camera bags perfect for toting around to your next Summer music festival. Prices are a little more than what you expect from the brand, with smaller bags retailing from $178 to over $1,000, for ones featuring more exotic textiles, but once you take a close look at the supple leather and fine details you'll know why. The Coach Legacy collection, which also includes a men's collection (we spied a couple of backpacks we'd love to "borrow" from the boys), will launch in stores and online on Aug. 12. For now, get a sneak peek of the collection in the slideshow.
Diane Kruger showed off a daring ensemble in Miami over the weekend at the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Miami wearing an embroidered Jason Wu cape jacket straight off the designer's Fall 2012 runway. Wu paired the look with pants on the runway, but leave it to Diane Kruger to give the look her own fashion spin by wearing it as a dress instead of a coat. Gold ankle strap heels, a red clutch, and a bold lip complete her fashion-forward look. Are you loving her fearless styling skills, or have you seen better looks from Diane? Vote below and tell us your thoughts in the comments section.
Score Elizabeth and James's Fall Collection Right Now, Plus Dakota Fanning Dishes on Her Favorite Pieces
There are two types of people in the world: the ones that live in the moment and the ones that plan ahead. If you fall in the latter part of that statement, you'll be happy to hear that Moda Operandi is doing something pretty amazing right now. The luxury fashion site is hosting a bevy of Fall 2012 trunk shows (only for a limited time) and right now, they're hosting one of our favorite brands, Elizabeth and James. Compared to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's pricier The Row line, Elizabeth and James offers a more affordable collection to satiate your cool-girl hunger. In fact, one of their biggest celebrity fans is Dakota Fanning. The actress has been spotted sporting Elizabeth and James on the streets and in front of the camera, so you can imagine her excitement when she laid eyes on the brand's latest Fall line. Dakota recently took time out to share her favorite pieces from Elizabeth and James's Fall 2012 collection and why she loves it. Want to see her top picks from the collection? Not only do they keep you cooler during those hot Summer days, they also give you an excuse to show off a pair of your cute Spring shoes. We like to think of the CFDAs as the fashion industry's Oscars, and last night, the council announced its 2012 nominees. Joining Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler's Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for the big womenswear designer award are Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen for The Row. Last year, the sisters swooped up the Swarovski Award for womenswear. The big announcement and stylish soiree happen in June, but for now, check out the full list of nominees:
Jessica Alba stepped out in style in West Hollywood last night to support her friend and stylist Brad Goreski, for his new book launch, Born to be Brad, hosted by Deborah Lloyd and Kate Spade. Her penchant for bright colors was exemplified this time with a striking Kate Spade colorblocked ensemble comprised of bold orange pants, a blue top, a black leather jacket, a yellow bag, and cap-toe pumps. The color contrast is right in line with Spring's brights trend, as seen on the runways from Yigal Azrouel, Peter Som, and Rag & Bone to name a few. We love this look because it's totally wearable and easy to replicate. Read below on how to get the same look, then shop our editors' picks.
How to get the look:
- When contrasting bright colors against one another, make sure to choose flattering combos, like Jessica's orange and blue, lime green and fuchsia, or green and blue.
- Add another element to your look with an equally bright statement bag. Go easy on jewelry and let your outfit do all the talking.
- If a bright colorblocked look is too much for your taste, try pairing a vibrant pair of pants with a camel- or nude-hued top for a more subdued take on the trend.
H&M is furthering our Spring shopping itch with its latest Spring 2012 ad featuring Sasha Pivovarova, Natasha Poly, Isabeli Fontana, and Anais Mali. - Contrast a pair of bright pants with camel and khaki tones for a chic, yet polished look on the bright colors trend.
- We love the idea of adding subtle shimmer to a casual look with a slouchy metallic sweater.
- Douse yourself in sequins for a fun evening look; just remember to let your dress do the talking via minimal accessories.
