Celebrities Wearing Brooches

Brooches are back and better than ever, and this latest batch of celebrities are showing us exactly how it's done. Opting for a more modern look, Freida Pinto made a striking arrival at the Tribeca Film Festival wearing a sharp red Gucci suit accessorized with a black and gold butterfly brooch. We love how Freida tempered her masculine pantsuit with such a feminine accoutrement, but if you're looking for a more ladylike appeal, look to Kate Middleton for inspiration. The Duchess of Cambridge styled her blue tweed Rebecca Taylor skirt suit with a red crystal flower pin — a look you can easily replicate for work. Furthermore, Elisa Sednaoui pinned her vintage-inspired Chanel brooch to a cropped top for a new twist on the button-up top. Kate Middleton Wearing Matthew Williamson and Rebecca Taylor

Just days before celebrating her wedding anniversary to Prince William, Kate Middleton showed off her fashion savvy in Spring's hottest trend, wearing not one, but two brilliant peplum looks. Yesterday, Kate wore a dove gray peplum dress adorned with gorgeous beading embellishments by Matthew Williamson, paired with dark green suede pumps and a matching clutch at the UK premiere of African Cats. Kate then switched out of her fancy dress for a prim two-piece tweed suit by Rebecca Taylor for a royal reception at the Goldsmiths Hall in London honoring the Scott-Amundsen Centenary Race to the South Pole. We love how anyone can wear this look just as easily to the office. Meanwhile, blue suede pumps and an Anya Hindmarch snake skin clutch finish off her ensemble. Lauren Conrad Shows Us How to Work It in All White — Get the Look

Spring's all-white trend can seem like a daunting style risk, but in reality, all you need are the right pieces to re-create the same crisp looks we saw on the runways.

Spring's all-white trend can seem like a daunting style risk, but in reality, all you need are the right pieces to re-create the same crisp looks we saw on the runways. We spotted Lauren Conrad — check out her new hot pink hair tips — in a prime example at her book signing in LA wearing a sweet two-piece ensemble. Notice how she paired a white tweed full-skirted miniskirt with a semi-sheer collared sleeveless blouse for a feminine ensemble with just a twist of toughness thanks to the cool stud detailing on her blouse. To complete her look, Lauren accessorized with white espadrille sandals and a few simple gold jewels. Read below for more styling tips, then shop the widget for fresh white dressing options.

  • Choose the most flattering shade of white for your skin tone. Notice how Lauren opted for a softer white hue instead of bright white.
  • The easiest way to wear all white is with a simple little white dress and stunning accessories. Avoid an overtly Labor Day look by choosing sleeker silhouettes like sporty racerbacks or silky tank dresses, then finish off the look with white statement shoes and a bold clutch.
  • Play with texture; we love how Lauren Conrad mixed her tweed skirt with silver studs.
  • If you're feeling bold, try out a white jumpsuit for your next Summer soiree. Finish off the ensemble with strappy sandals and an oversized cuff for a crisp and clean '70s-inspired look.

Opening Ceremony Fall 2012 Collection

For Opening Ceremony's Fall 2012 collection, designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim created a cozy collection inspired by the natural wonders of Patagonia. With a focus on textures and prints inspired by the great outdoors, the duo created a sporty luxe collection comprised of printed trousers, puffer coats, lace-inset sweatshirts, and body-con fleece dresses. Tempering the casual aesthetic were refined touches via leather trim, Mongolian fur, and metallic finishes. Meanwhile, the brand's accessory offerings ranged from round red sunglasses to chunky lace-up boots and chic printed loafers. The collection is definitely a slightly more mature take compared to their past collections, but nonetheless true to Humberto and Carol's whimsical cool style. Check out our top three looks below, then click the slideshow to see the complete collection.

  • We love this leather and tweed moto jacket. It's equal parts polish and tough girl, and perfect for pairing with cropped trousers and pleated midi skirts.
  • A dressy sweatshirt might come off as an oxymoron, but we can't resist this lace and fleece sweatshirt.
  • Car coats are a huge Fall trend. This rendition gives the trend a modern spin thanks to the bright cobalt leather trim.

Breaking News — Raf Simons Is Replacing John Galliano at Dior

News just broke that Raf Simons will be replacing John Galliano at Dior.
Raf Simons Is New Creative Director at Dior

News just broke that Raf Simons will be replacing John Galliano at Dior. "The first time I heard about the Dior position," said Simons, "I thought, 'This feels right.'" It has been a little over a year since Dior fired John Galliano for making anti-Semitic remarks, and with it came rumors of his replacement, which included Marc Jacobs and Alber Elbaz. After seven years as Jil Sander's artistic director, Simons was replaced by the brand's founder earlier this year. Simons garnered high accolades for bringing a fresh, feminine quality to Jil Sander's minimal aesthetic, but his new post at Dior is sure to be a challenge. "Of course I haven't been in the archives yet, but for me the strongest impact is the first 10 years of Dior and how to link that to the 21st century," said Simons. "Mr. Dior was very innovative during a short time span. And it was in the middle of the 20th century, a period I am very interested in, whether it's linked to fashion, architecture or art. So I find it very challenging to rethink couture." Simons will be showing his first Dior collection in July at the Fall haute couture shows. We can't wait to see what he comes up with; for now, check out his last and beautiful collection for Jil Sander in the slideshow. Do you think Simons is a good fit for Dior?
