This has always been such a tough subject for fashion to deal with.

I'm very to happy to see that you're paying attention and making note of those who are taking the steps towards true diversity on the runways.

And while all-black casts are great, I really hope that it's not just a trend and this splash of skin color will last throughout the seasons to come and overflow into our ads and magazine editorials.

Moreover, it would be really nice to see more Asians and Latinos.

I really like this trend. As a woman of color I am happy that the industry is starting to recognize that there is more than one definition of beauty.

a very popular american tv show is called "ugly betty"-the betty being refered to is a latino whoes nose is not of darwin's or vogue's standards and whoes figure is not anorexic. It is not called "Betties ugly world".
One day ,and very soon it will be about diversity as it was in the beginning,as it truly is.Till then it is not for us to look to "white pride" magazines to confirm our ideals of beauty. It is up to us to start magazines, support our photographers, our models and stop expecting handouts. If a magazine does not represent my demographic i will not buy it.The same goes for designers,no girls of colour on there runway ,no charge card ring -up for them.

>> I've been noticing a more concerted effort by designers to cast models of color this season, but so far, Sophie Theallet takes the cake. For her New York runway debut, the Brooklyn-based Parisian designer sent out an entire cast of black models — Kinee Diouf, Honorine Uwera, Ataui Deng — the works. It was her training — ten years under the wing of Azzedine Alaia — that first brought the likes of Vogue's Grace Coddington, New York Times's Cathy Horyn, Lou Doillon, and Vogue Paris' Melanie Huynh out of the woodwork, but I bet as they left the Altman Building this morning, the model imagery was on their minds — it was on mine.
