This season Rodebjer's smoking jacket-as-dress has us pretty enchanted, and come Spring 09 not much will change. Always balancing the masculine and feminine in design, this Spring 09 Rodebjar offered up boxy blouses, lean silk blazers, cropped play pants, and some smart accessories. We agreed with the showroom representative who told us that if she had the entire collection in her wardrobe, she would be 100% pleased (she was, after all, wearing the aforementioned smoking jacket). Carin Rodebjer studied at FIT and has since relocated to her native country of Sweden where, we imagine, everyone loves her. Thank heavens she started her career here in New York's Lower East Side, otherwise we'd worry that she'd be an unknown designer to us for far too long.
