>> Proenza Schouler continues their video obsession. The latest — which features nineties model Danielle Zinaich wandering around Annandale-on-Hudson, New York in a custom patent leather version of a Fall 2010 runway look, captured on a grainy vintage camcorder — marks the launch of the PS1 in patent, available exclusively on the Proenza Schouler website by the end of this month.
The patent version comes in three sizes — the PS1 Pochette ($895), PS1 Medium ($1,595), and PS1 Large ($1,995, left) — and was treated by a process specifically developed to give the leather a soft and liquid feel: layers of clear lacquer are “painted” on the skin in place of the traditional method, which involves layering plastic on top of the leather's surface.
