New Years Resolutions For the Fashion Industry in 2013

In March, Tommy Hilfiger vowed to use safer factories after an ABC News investigation found that he was still contracting to a Bangladeshi manufacturer that killed 29 of its employees in a factory fire in 2010. In September, 264 employees of a factory in Pakistan died in a fire because their building had no emergency exits.




At the end of November, another 117 workers were killed in a factory fire in Bangladesh, and 14 young women died in an arson attack on a factory in Shantou, China, just a few weeks ago.




The bottom line is that no one should have to die for fashion, especially when tragedies like these are preventable.
