Narciso Rodriguez Pre-Fall 2013
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Narciso Rodriguez's Spring 2013 collection was one of the most critically acclaimed of his career, so it's only natural that he would revisit its themes and successes for Pre-Fall.

This offering used the same triangle motif found in Rodriguez's last outing, but this time it appeared as a sort of downward-facing tuxedo stripe on cropped trousers or as a chevron-shaped seam on a few dresses. There was sparkle, too, thanks to beads judiciously applied to a blood-red tunic and a vermillion cocktail dress. Speaking of colors, some of the Spring palette bled through here. Much of Pre-Fall stuck to black and white, but there was rust and orange dotted here and there, and even pale pink on an oversize clutch.

What's new, though, was Rodriguez's expanding use of knits and leather. The colorblocked sweaters in this collection are sure to be crowd-pleasers when the Pre-Fall deliveries make it to stores, and so will a deep-red sheath in calfskin.
