Inauguration Celebration: See All of Michelle Obama's Looks
What's a woman to wear when she becomes first lady for the second time around? At Monday night's inaugural ball, Michelle Obama wore a red chiffon and velvet gown by Jason Wu, who created the dress she wore to the her husband's first inauguration in 2009.

"Mrs. Obama likes to keep her secrets," he said in an interview with WWD, explaining that he didn't know she'd chosen the design. "She fooled me again. She's really good at it. I was so nervous. You'd think I wouldn't be since I'd experienced it before but I really was."

Obama paired the gown with shoes from Jimmy Choo and a handmade diamond-embellished ring by Kimberly McDonald.

Obama wore a Thom Browne coat and dress for the official inaugural ceremonies earlier in the day, and she wore a mix of equally celebrated designers for the weekend leading up to Monday's big celebrations. The coat was inspired by fabrics used for men's neckties, and Browne told CNN reporter Alina Cho that he picked navy blue because of the likelihood President Obama would wear a similar color.

"She's such a strong woman," he said in an interview with The New York Times. "I wanted her to feel good in it and to feel comfortable, strong, feminine, and beautiful." Browne was asked to submit a design several months ago, but didn't know that she would wear the coat and dress until today.

The first lady also wore shoes from J.Crew and a necklace designed by Cathy Waterman. The entire outfit will be donated to the National Archives at the end of the inaugural festivities, according to The Associated Press.
