>> The reports were right: Marc Jacobs took the Stephen Sprouse moment he was having over at Louis Vuitton and extended it into his own Fall 2009 Marc Jacobs collection.  There were only folding chairs and a red carpet, no bleachers and extravagant set of yesteryear — apparently it's going to be the same at Louis Vuitton, according to Marc, a tight guest list and two rows — but all the better for the bright neon coats, ponchos, and hooded jackets to stand out.  "The collection is all about clubbing in the '80s, when New Yorkers could have fun, be creative.  Not like now . . ." Marc explained backstage, where Carine Roitfeld unexplainedly asked him if he was wearing underwear and he lifted up his kilt to show her he was.  It all happened so fast, starting one minute early and finishing eight minutes later, but the tone has been set; it's all about the individual — each of the 65 girls had a different makeup look and hairstyle.
