Hussein Chayalan Comments On Our Pace
by coutorture 0
What will turn out to be one of the star collections from this Spring 09 season was the collection by Hussein Chayalan which showed last night in Paris. It was a fun and upbeat offering and called up a discussion on pace and the speed at which our culture now moves. Accessible pieces came down the runway (albeit with couture-appropriate head pieces), like neutral color mini dresses and striped chiffon cover-ups, but the show ended with latex-formed frocks which appeared as though there were a dimensional lag behind the wearer. The hair called up visions of the Calvin Klein Fall 08 ad campaign and mimicked the shape of the dresses we would see on other models.
