>> Much speculation has identified Gareth Pugh and Olivier Theyskens as two possible frontrunners to take over creative direction of Alexander McQueen's label, and over the weekend, the Telegraph UK reported that Gucci Group owner PPR had indicated Pugh as the desired successor.
Last night, however, Pugh's PR company, Mandi Lennard Publicity, issued a statement in rebuttal: "To speculative reports earlier this week, Gareth Pugh is not in discussions with Gucci Group about a Creative Director role at Alexander McQueen."
Meanwhile, the last collection McQueen worked on — which is believed to have been mostly finished before his death — will be shown in "a series of low-key, private, salon presentations this week," the Telegraph UK notes.

Gareth would be pretty awesome, wouldn't he? If you were to combine looks from a Pugh/McQueen collection, it flows! I'm not saying they're identical in their aesthetics but I could see Pugh sliding into that role.

Am I really the only one who thinks that Milan's Francesco Scognamiglio would actually be a good fit at McQueen? I am not saying that anyone can replace McQueen but if you look at Francesco's work, he would be on VERY familiar ground.
After researching Francesco Scognamiglio past collections I think I'm with you...his work is Impeccable.....Theyskins can be too Goth even for Mcqueen and Pugh can be so Extreme minus the Saville Row Tailoring and thats what set McQueen apart from the pack....Antonio Beradi may even be a good fit
NO-ONE WILL OR SHOULD HELM MCQUEEN. A GENIUS HAS DIED AND NO-ONE WILL EVER COME CLOSE TO THIS AGAIN.
GARETH PUGH'S PALETTE-YAWN. PROZAC PLEASE.....
MCQUEEN WAS GOTHIC/ROMANTIC/INSPIRED+INSPIRATIONAL.......ORIGINAL.
