Over-the-knee boots were all over the Fall 2009 catwalks, in styles that ranged from stocking-like to trouser-like in their appearance. Thanks to the height, clothing was a lot less substantial and it was hard not to make the connection between the brevity of fabric and the recession. Not that things would be that simple, of course--these boots will undoubtedly cost quite a bit when they hit the retail floor (merchandisers put on your thinking caps).
