FGI Rising Star 2009 Award Winner, Christian Cota, Reveals His Fall 2009 Inspiration

This season Cota designs for the survivors. Making metaphor out of the global economic collapse, Cota has drawn on his longstanding love of the natural world in order to express our awakening to a new reality. This collection takes inspiration from geology and the elements of nature--crystal, water, lava and stone--and revels in nature's gorgeous flux, playing new geometric details against the softness and fluidity of Cota's signature draping.
