What was your first experience at Fashion Week like?
"I went to the Miss Sixty fashion show — yep — in 2009, at Bryant Park. I was in line for the bathroom in front of Chloe Sevigny, and she started making casual conversation, which was awesome. I was trying to pretend that I was so over the craziness of Fashion Week because I thought I would look like an old hand.
"Anyway, a stall freed up, and I kind of hesitated and then said, 'Do you, uh, you should first.' She looked at me like I was crazy and said, 'Why would I jump in front of you? You have to pee too, right?' At which point I realized I had just offered for her to go ahead of me based simply on the fact that I thought she was cooler than me — I thought right — and therefore I should have to wait.
"We laughed at the stupidity of it all, and then she waited her damn turn. I've been hanging onto this for years and she probably forgot two seconds later."
What is your most memorable Fashion Week moment?
"When we had the mechanical bull at the Fall 2011 show. It was a slow, creepy mechanical bull that we had to have someone operate from the corner, which was strange. After the show some of the models wanted to ride it."
How do you plan to recover from Fashion Week?
"I'm going to organize like crazy. That sounds backwards, but all I can think of is organizing myself within an inch of sanity so that next season when things get crazy at least I know where my shirt is. But before that I'll sleep in, get myself back to Soul Cycle on the regular, and hang out with friends."
