What was your first experience at Fashion Week like?
"My first Fashion Week experience was the Marc Jacobs Spring 2002 show — yikes, over a decade ago! It was so dazzling, outdoors at the Maritime building. After the show the back of the runway opened up leading the whole crowd down into the space where Hiro is now for the afterparty. I remember all the models dancing on tables and having the best time ever."
What is your most memorable Fashion Week moment?
"I'm always a bit sentimental over my very first presentation for Fall 2007 at Christie's. It was a terrific little show, and afterwards we had a sweet dinner upstairs at Raoul's in SoHo. Shalom Harlow and Amber Valletta came and it really bookended my middle-school House of Style fantasies."
How do you plan to recover from Fashion Week?
"There's never a moment to waste after the show. I jump right in a plane to Paris to start looking at fabrics for Fall 2013! I'll recover for about 20 minutes in the car ride from Charles de Gaulle to Premiere Vision, I hope!"
