Dolce, Gabbana Found Guilty and Sentenced in Tax Evasion Case

An Italian judge has found designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana guilty of tax evasion, and on Wednesday sentenced both men to serve one year and eight months in prison.

An Italian judge has found designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana guilty of tax evasion, and on Wednesday sentenced both men to serve one year and eight months in prison.

Reuters reports that the designers weren't in the room when judge Antonella Brambilla handed down the decision, and they're expected to appeal their sentences — which will only add more time to a legal saga the men have been engaged in for years.

The initial charges in the case stem from the 2004 sale of their brand to a Luxembourg-based holding company called Gado, which the Italian Tax Authority claims was orchestrated to help the company avoid paying taxes on more than $1 billion worth of assets in Italy. The designers and their executives have always vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

Whether the designers or the five other members of their staff found guilty in the case will actually serve jail time remains to be seen.

The Style Set: This Week's Most Fashionable Partygoers

Let's hear it for the boys.

Let's hear it for the boys. So far, this week's most stylish parties have focused mostly on the work of men's designers — or designers who happen to be men. London this weekend saw the presentation of the Spring 2014 menswear collections by designers like Sibling and Alexander McQueen, and the coordinating parties drew dapper dudes and stylish women alike. Model Arizona Muse showed up at a party Esquire threw with Jimmy Choo, and Tommy Hilfiger and his wife Dee were spotted attending the shows.

Stateside, jewelry designer Phillip Crangi toasted the launch of his collaboration with Liberty United, alongside his sister Courtney Crangi, Jenna Lyons, and Prabal Gurung, among others. A look at those parties and more, here in the gallery.

Hot Hot Heat: The Best of July 2013's Magazine Covers So Far

Summer might not have officially started yet, but that hasn't stopped our favorite fashion magazines from bringing a little heat to their July covers.

Summer might not have officially started yet, but that hasn't stopped our favorite fashion magazines from bringing a little heat to their July covers. Case in point: Vogue Netherlands's cover shows model Kinee Diouf wearing a floaty caftan, Dazed & Confused's cover features Kati Nescher in a coat that makes her look like she's on fire, and Cosmopolitan's cover with Kelly Osbourne invites readers to "Turn Up the Heat!"

There are some other lovely covers from next month that will be hitting newsstands any day now. From Salma Hayek on the cover of InStyle to Lauren Conrad on the cover of Marie Claire, a look at some of our favorites from July, here in the gallery.

Zac Posen Talks Instagram and Joe Manganiello ("He's a Warrior!")

Designer Zac Posen flexed his creativity recently with the creation of a 24-karat gold dress, designed in cahoots with Magnum Ice Cream and debuted with a short film at the Tribeca Film Festival starring Caroline Correa and Joe Manganiello.

Designer Zac Posen flexed his creativity recently with the creation of a 24-karat gold dress, designed in cahoots with Magnum Ice Cream and debuted with a short film at the Tribeca Film Festival starring Caroline Correa and Joe Manganiello. Now, all that glitters is both gold and ready to be worn by you — a version of the original $1.5 million dress became available for rental on Rent the Runway this month and will be rentable until the end of August. In celebration, we chatted with Zac about celebrity dressing and who he's following on Instagram these days.

POPSUGAR: Which celebrities have you had the most fun dressing?

Zac Posen: Everybody, especially when they've been able to collaborate and come to the studio and have it become meaningful. Obviously working with good friends like Lena Dunham or Claire Danes or Martha Stewart has great meaning to me because they're people I admire and I've known for awhile. I try to think of the people I work with as creators rather than celebrities.

More from Posen, here.

Eva Chen to Replace Brandon Holley as Editor in Chief of Lucky

It's official: Eva Chen has been named the editor in chief of Lucky magazine, replacing Brandon Holley.

It's official: Eva Chen has been named the editor in chief of Lucky magazine, replacing Brandon Holley. Chen, the former beauty and health director of Teen Vogue, had been consulting at Lucky with Condé Nast's artistic director, Anna Wintour.

The staff change was announced in an internal memo sent to Condé Nast employees Tuesday. A source told Fashionista that the entire Lucky staff was summoned to an "emergency meeting" earlier in the day.

In a statement, Wintour praised Chen's international presence and called her "the quintessential Lucky girl. Eva is a woman of tremendous talent and experience. I have worked with her over the last few years, both during her time at Teen Vogue, and as she has been consulting with Lucky. Her lengthy experience in our industry gives her a solid foundation in both digital and e-commerce."

Chen's impact on the magazine will start to appear in its September issue, the most important month for print fashion magazines. Chen is also one of the few editors in chief at Condé Nast's domestic magazines who isn't white. Her colleague Keija Minor became the first black editor in chief at the company when she was appointed to lead Brides in September.

There's no word yet on what Holley's next move will be. Before coming to Lucky in 2010, Holley had been editor in chief of Yahoo! Shine.

Happy National Splurge Day! Treat Yourself to One of Spring's Best Bags

June 18 marks one of the best retail holidays of the year: National Splurge Day.

June 18 marks one of the best retail holidays of the year: National Splurge Day. And with all the beautiful bags available for Spring 2013, we can't think of a better way to spend this day than looking through the dizzying array of colors and shapes, varying from sleek and simple to festooned with appliqués and visual effects. Mulberry's Willow bag, for example, has a minimal shape that nonetheless makes a bright splash in mint green, while Sophia Webster's Azealia Striped Python Clutch explodes with a variety of candy hues.

A look at the rest of the best — from Gucci, Saint Laurent, Prada, Lanvin, Céline, and beyond — here in the gallery.

The Best Style From Bonnaroo, or How to Beat the Heat in Tennessee

Dressing for the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN, is more about keeping cool in 90-degree weather than it is about glamorous women in designer clothes.

Dressing for the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN, is more about keeping cool in 90-degree weather than it is about glamorous women in designer clothes. But that doesn't mean attendees at the four-day festival skimped on the style front. In fact, more than a few women put their own spin on Spring 2013's biggest trends. We break down the three best looks we saw this weekend — from the grounds of the festival to its stage — here. On Jessica: Rachel Roy Dress. On Justin: Club Monaco Shirt and Blazer

The Most Outrageous Looks From the Spring 2014 Men's Shows in London

Men's fashion usually moves at a snail's pace, but some of the designers who presented their collections in London over the past few days have proposed a few looks for men that are light-years ahead of the modern preppy feeling that predominates current men's clothes.

Men's fashion usually moves at a snail's pace, but some of the designers who presented their collections in London over the past few days have proposed a few looks for men that are light-years ahead of the modern preppy feeling that predominates current men's clothes.

Take for example the open-weave, short-sleeved sweaters and shorts that came down the runway at the Sibling show alongside the brand's easy-to-wear denim and knits. Or JW Anderson's lacy halter-top shirts for men (perhaps this season's answer to the scalloped skirts and tops he presented in his men's Fall 2013 collection). And then there are the multicolored pieces at Man — a group presentation consisting of clothing from designers Craig Green, Bobby Abley, and Alan Taylor — that look more like wearable sculptures than anything one might find on the rack at Barneys.

A glimpse of those very experimental looks and more, here in the gallery.
