>> Andre Leon Talley's New TV Role Not Wintour-Approved? —Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Andre Leon Talley would be filling a full-time judge role for the fourteenth cycle of America's Next Top Model. However, word is that Anna Wintour is less than pleased with his new direction: she apparently hasn't approved the new post, even with "numerous pleas" from show creator Tyra Banks. [LA Times, @jcreportglobal]
If I were Anna, I'd probably not approve of it either because ANTM isn't nearly as interesting or credible as some of the other versions out there. On the flip side, if I were Tyra I'd be like "Guurl, he's a grown man doing it fo himself! You better let ALT be on my show...it's the only one I got left!"
I Like Leon... He's crazy
I agree with @Calvin W. If I were her, I would say NO! All there's left of ANTM is just drama now. In the beginning, I had high hopes...I mean, at least Tyra WAS a model before and had walked runways...but the show just turned out to be...I don't know what. Now, I only watch it for a laugh. If Andre went on to be a judge...it would destroy his reputation as well as Vogue's...FOR SURE!
Seriously, I use to like and admire Anna so much but that's diminishing by the hour. Leave the man along. If he wants to do it, let it be. Also, my personal opinion is that after so many years at a work place, even if it's Vogue, you need to explore new directions as a professional to prove yourself. As of him being a judge there, I think it will add some credibility to the show. The judges they've picked so far don't have the reputation and experience Leon has. I say, yes! Let him take it. It might even bring some new readers to the magazine.
