>> INSIDER WIRE —Clues are already abounding about Chanel tomorrow — apparently the show is going to be all black, with some touches of cream, green, and pink jade, all based on Karl Lagerfeld's idea of Beau Brummell; frilly white collars on black tweed jackets, white cuffs, boaters over ringlets, and the like.  And at the show?  Kate Moss is supposed to be there, her first front row appearance of the season — she already visited Karl at the atelier today. Here's an odd bit of trivia for you – some people have been asking what Beau Brummel shoe polish was. Beau Brummel, for those who haven't heard the before, was an advocate of men's high fashion, and was instrumental in the invention of the modern men's suit. He was actually named George Brummel, and here's the skinny – he would routinely spend 5 HOURS getting dressed, every day, including cleaning his teeth and bathing. (Then, a daily bath was unheard of.) He was what came to be referred to as a dandy. But anyhow, he recommended that men polish their boots with CHAMPAGNE. That's right – Beau Brummel shoe polish is shoe polish – if a person were to follow this regimen, they'd need payday loans to keep up.
