Vivienne Westwood After Sex and the City Screenplay

>> Dame Vivienne never ceases to surprise.  First, the choice of Pam Anderson as her Spring 2009 campaign face — shot by Juergen Teller at a trailer, no less — and now she's got her eyes on a film.  Not that biopic that has been rumored for years, but rather the Sex and the City sequel — and she doesn't want to just design another dress this time; she wants to write the whole screenplay.

Apparently she's quite set on the idea.  In fact, she's been in contact with the production staff, trying to pitch her storyline, according to a spokesman: "She's been obsessed with the film ever since she saw it. One of her designs was used as the wedding dress.  She has even put in calls to Sarah Jessica Parker about it."

So far, no dice — it's been a case of "don't call us, we'll call you," says the spokesman. "We haven't had any news about it yet, so we don't know what's happening."  Maybe Viv should stick to her day job for now?

I was surprised with Miss Viv for choosing Pam Anderson, too... But the more I thought about it, I thought it was kind of a symbolic choice. Westwood's not known for polish or correctness, but that gravelly, decaying aesthetic. Pam's a 2009 icon for different reasons than when she was a 1999 icon. Or not, you decide.

Oh boy, can only imagine what her screenplay would have in store...even if she doesn't get the deal, do you sense another Tom Ford movie producer on our hands? Think so.

Oh dear....Viv does sound like she's been going a bit heavy on the shandy lately. What big time Hollywood producer would be willing to invest millions on a Sex and the City sequel written by someone as complcated and paradoxal as Viv?
This whole story sounds a bit of uncanny to me.
