Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel Silent Film Debuts

Fri, 12/05/08 — 05:58:00 PM

>>  A couple of days ago, we got to see the teaser for the ten minute silent film Karl Lagerfeld produced to introduce his extravagant Chanel Paris-Moscow show.  Now, the full-fledged directorial debut is available, with Edita Vilkeviciute as a lounging, smoking, staring Coco Chanel, and other assorted members of Karl's entourage in the supporting roles.  Karl takes the opportunity to poke fun at Chanel's rival Poiret — "What is that horror you're wearing?" — and there's another humorous moment involving a deliveryman and some hat boxes, but generally speaking, he should stick to the clothes.

Lagerfeld is a bore as director and as designer,he has made a travesty of chanel, and due to the time we live in ,one thats all about cash over content, he has done it succesfully. No one will ever do chanel like chanel .all they can do is keep making money with chanel's name. His best work ever (lagerfeld)was at chloe and at fendi in the 80's.Since then he has digressed into doing chanel drag almost literally. So much money wasted,in his documentary he professed to own hundreds of pairs of jeans,he is not a designer he is a consumer of style.
