>> ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL —Claudia Schiffer is replacing Naomi Campbell as Yves Saint Laurent's supermodel face for Spring 2009, and the stunning first image of the set is out. Once again, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin helmed the campaign's Hollywood Hills photoshoot, positioning a tuxedo jacket-clad Claudia in front of a big "Y" — to depict the theme "Y's up." The ads break in February, and this shot will be used on the newest YSL Manifesto, to be handed out Feb. 14 during New York Fashion Week. [WWD]

All this hooha over YSL throughout the year. Kate and then Naomi and now Claudia.
Do they need all this to up the sales? Correct me if I'm wrong but I read somewhere the sales at YSL haven't been en par with expectations when Stefano Pilatti took over.
