>> Christopher Kane is never one to shy away from pushing the envelope — not even when it involves putting a gaping screenprinted image of a gorilla down the runway — his Spring 2009 collection is inspired by Planet of the Apes (and The Flinestones and Raquel Welch), after all. The circular theme he had going on with all the paillettes in his Fall 2008 collection carried over, this time in the form of layers and layers of chiffon semicircles.  In some pieces it was beautiful, in other pieces, a little editing would have gone far — and as for all the marabou, well, we'll just ignore that.
